Notice of Upcoming Road Work - Sharon Road

September 12, 2017: Please be advised of upcoming paving work to begin in late September or early October on Sharon Road starting at Simpson Road and ending at the cul-de-sac. The work will consist of reclaiming the existing pavements, regrading the roadbed, compacting the materials, adjusting basins as necessary, and then two layers of new asphalt put in place. All driveways will be adjusted to meet the new pavements, as needed, and shoulders will be either graveled or loamed and hydro seeded to complete the work. There may also be some brush and/or tree work done, as needed, to accommodate the equipment, improve site distance and remove low hanging limbs. Equipment may also be left overnight on the shoulders of the road and hopefully within the Town right-of-way.

We ask if you have sprinkler heads or other items in the right-of-way that you either mark them or remove them temporarily to allow for the work to be done. Anything within three feet of the edge of pavement may be disturbed during the grinding and paving process. Both the Town and the contractor will try to accommodate what we can, but there are limitations and if we don’t see or know where things are we cannot be held responsible for damages.

There will be delays as the work progresses of maybe a few minutes due to equipment and men in the road, but there will be one lane open for travel at all times possible. We ask that you please be cautious of the workers and watch for the flaggers as they try to direct the traffic through the work areas.

If you have any questions or concerns prior to the start of, or during, the work phase please call the Highway Department at 603-216-5676. Thank you for your time and considerations.
