07/30 TOWN BEACH UPDATE: The recent advisory issued by the NH DES for the Town Beach has been lifted. Samples taken from the area on July 29th have returned E. Coli levels of  20/100mL, which is well within the State standard of 88 counts/ 100mL of water. Monitoring of the area will continue, with results posted here as they become available.

NOTICE OF CLOSING: The following Town Offices will be closed on Friday, August 13, 2010 for the Annual Senior Picnic; Administration, Assessing, Community Development, Tax Collector, and Town Clerk. We thank you for your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

FROM THE BUILDING INSPECTOR: In light of the ongoing lack of rain and a number of reported well issues, property owners are urged to monitor their irrigation systems and consider taking water conservation measures. FROM THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT: To the residents of Bear Hill, Sylvestri, and Hayes Hart roads, please be advised that the Town will begin paving work on your roads as of July 26, 2010. Although each project is different, all should be completed by August 13th, with the majority finished even sooner. We thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time, and urge you to contact us at 965-1211 with any questions you may have.

LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD PHOTOS: The Community Development Department is developing a web site focused on community development in Windham and I want to highlight the great businesses located here in Town on this new site. I am also looking for other photos from around Town to show off on this new web site, so take a minute to check those laptops, digital cameras, and hard drives. You and your business could be a star. Email your photos to Laura Scott by August 30th for consideration. Please make sure to identify the location and/or business name and those in the picture when submitting.

FROM THE HEALTH OFFICER: Although NH is not under a drought declaration, DES is asking residents to be proactive and conserve water during this period of little rain. This conservation could help off-set any future low precipitation or drought situations.
