RESIDENTIAL SHEDS IN WINDHAM

If you are considering installing a shed, please remember a building permit is required for sheds greater than 120 square feet in size. These sheds are required to meet the setback requirements from the lot lines for the district your home is in.

A maximum of two (2) sheds, no more than 100 square feet in size and 12 feet or less in height, may be placed within 10 feet of the lot line in the side and/or rear yard in any district.

All sheds, regardless of size, that are within 250 feet of a pond or lake, need a Shoreland Impact Permit from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services. All sheds that are in the Town of Windham Cobbetts Pond and Canobie Lake Watershed District need a Minor Watershed Permit from the Town.

All the Town requirements and permits are available at the Windham Community Development Department 3 No. Lowell Road, Monday thru Friday between 8am and 4pm and on line at windhamnewhampshire.com . For more information, please contact Dick Gregory at 432-3806 or email at [email protected].
