FIELD INFORMATION:

  • Tokanel Field:  Softball field & tennis court

  • Edward N. Herbert Field:  Softball field

  • Nashua Road: Two tennis courts, soccer field, t-ball field, basketball court..

  • Searles School:  Soccer field

  • Roger’s Memorial Field: Two baseball diamonds

  • Griffin Park: Three baseball fields, two soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, in-line skate park, paved walking path, covered pavilion/concession stand, playground

WATER ACTIVITIES:

   Cobbetts Pond:

  • Town Beach: 45 Cobbetts Pond Road, Phone: 893-6244. Open year round, however, lifeguards are only on duty mid-June to Labor Day. Open to Windham Residents only & their guests. Beach Pass is required (no charge).

  • Fishing Keys: Available at Town Clerk’s Office, allow residents access to the boat launch at the Town Beach, subject to specific rules and regulations. Available to Windham Residents ONLY.  See rules and application here.

  • Swim Lessons:  Red Cross swim lessons, 2 week sessions. Mom & Tot and up. Registration, early June.

  • Boat Launching: Appointments may be made to allow boat launching through the Town Beach for those boat owners who have a mooring on Cobbetts Pond.

   Canobie Lake:

  • Boat Launching: Access to Canobie Lake is available to Windham residents via a boat ramp off of Hayes Hart Road. Note: There is NO SWIMMING allowed in Canobie Lake, as it is Salem's water supply.

OTHER ACTIVITIES:

  • NEW! Windham Rail Trail: 4.1 miles of level, paved trail.

  • Playground: Esty Road (Behind Roger's Field/Cemetery on the Plain). Open year round (however, not maintained during winter). Contact Person: Recreation Department, 965-1208

  • Contra Dancing: First Friday evening of each month at the Windham Town Hall.

  • Foster’s Pond Conservation Area: Canoeing, birdwatching, hiking.

  • Dear Leap Conservation Area: Hiking, bird watching.

  • Landry Family Conservation Easement: Hiking, bird watching.

    • For more information on Conservation lands and permitted activities, please contact Jim Finn at 890-6587 or Wayne Morris at 893-1953.

  • Extensive trail network for hiking. More information can be found here.

ANNUAL EVENTS:

  • Easter Egg Hunt/Easter Bunny: Held at Town Hall with separate areas available for various age groups.

  • Memorial Day Parade: Contact Mort Pearlman at 898-9000 for more info.

  • Strawberry Festival: Annually in June. Contact Nesmith Library at 432-7154 for more info.

  • Little Red Wagon: Summer at the Town Beach.

  • Town Day: Annually in July at Griffin Park.

  • 4th of July Fireworks: Provided by the Cobbetts Pond Improvement Association. Contact Tony DiFrucsia of the CPIA at 898-8158 for more info.

  • Senior Picnic: Summer at the Windham Fire Station. Hosted by Town staff. Free to Windham seniors. Contact the Administrative Offices at 432-7732 for more info.

  • Harvest Festival: Annually in October. Contact the Recreation Coordinator at 965-1208 for more information.

  • Lion's Club Annual Halloween Party: Contact Fred Linnemann at 432-5698 for more info.

  • Senior Christmas Party: Held at Castleton. Contact Recreation Coordinator at 965-120 for more info.

  • Christmas Tree Lighting/Visit from Santa: Held annually on the Town Common / Town Hall.
